i have been trying to figure out what other dog that the mother of my dog had her liter with and after studying the behavior as well as the looks of her i would say she looks really close to Shelby without the cool mohawk but other than that very very close, i think i may have solved the mystery of my dog (Snickers) father

    thank you

I had a Border Collie Rottweiler mix and he was the sweetest most loving dog I have ever had. He died last June at the age of 13 and I was looking to see if anyone was breeding this mix. My boy was an accident at a breeder in Buffalo Gap TX. I’d love to have another one.

When i was young in elementary school…i was walking home from school and was greeted by a tiny black and tan fuzzball with huge paws. My parents..mainly my mom…didn’t want me to have a dog. She always warned me how sad it was when they died. But i didn’t care. He was the cutest thing i’d ever seen. So after 2 days of my mom saying i couldn’t keep him. I watched through the window as the puppy turned on his charm with my mom and dad and soon they were helpless…they fell in love with him.

He grew up with me through high school and into my turbulent years. The most loyal and loving companion you could imagine. He seemed to know what i was thinking always…when i was happy or sad..just by looking into my eyes. When i was feeling down…he’d look at me…walk up and lay his head in my lap. As if he was saying it’s ok…everything will be alright. It was always very comforting to me and i will never ever forget what he’d done for me.

When i was in my early 20’s i moved out and started working full time. Wasn’t long after i got a call from my sister..crying…that Butch was dying and that i needed to come home. I barely made it in time but he was laying there on the ground…barely able to lift his head to look at me. He looked up at me…with his cloudy old eyes…and i said goodbye to the dearest most loyal companion i’ve ever had.

That was 25 years ago..and i’ve had at least 3 dogs since then whom me and my family loved dearly. But none have i had a connection with like my dog Butch.

The veterinarian always told me that Butch was a german shepherd collie mix and i always believed it. But after searching around on the internet he looked nothing like that. So i was telling my story to a dear friend..and she posted this picture of your dog and bam…i’ll never forget his face. He looked just like Shelby. Minus the mohawk..lol and the ears. He was a big dog. Big hairy bear. He also had a big maine of hair…like a lion. So i know that he was half rott and something else i’m still trying to figure out. Maybe he was part collie.

Thank you for posting pictures of Shelby. This will definitely help me in my search to find another dog like Butch.
