Marvin Yorkshire Terrier

So the weather has been really good last week, but when we photographed Marvin it was not the case and what a blessing! No seriously! If you know a bit about taking photos with digital camera you are aware of the fact that super sunny days do not create the best results. You have to fight with the shadows and glare and constant panting of dogs.

The day we met Marvin was perfect in a way, it was a drizzle and we had to shoot between the drops..

Marvin is 7 and a half years old Yorkshire Terrier. He is rather on a small size and keeps to himself. I loved the fact that he just got his haircut, there is nothing more challenging when you cannot see the eyes on the dog!

I am so glad we decided to change location and shoot at Steveston, I love this little town! That allowed us to escape the rain a bit and enjoy a coffee in a local shop.

Marvin is so small and so well behaved we had no problems having him inside with us..I even shared the whip from my Mocca with him!

I have to say that I am starting to fall in love the the urban dog photography and when we can do the beach and the city in one session it is the best!

The rain really got us at some point and we asked for a permission to use to outdoor part of a fantastic garden store The Prickly Pear to take a few more photos of Marvin.

Marvin cooperated so well during our session that we were able to get a variety of set up shots. That is not an option for me most of the time, as most of my clients have the same dog as me…the one that does not model..lol. But Marvin did great he gave me the eye contact most of the time,  my sound repertoire did not really work for him as he does not like cats nor is he interested in their sounds. I think most of my clients know I adapt easily..:)

Big thank you to Jessica for braving the rain with me! It was so much fun and I truly hope you will enjoy these photographs for years to come!
