I would like to introduce you to the fabulous cross of German Shepherd and Rottweiler (at least that is what the vet concluded). Bob’s story is quite remarkable, nearly 16 years ago he was left as little innocent puppy in a cold car near Stanley Park without food, water or blanket. Some teenagers got him as a gift and did not want the pup. Fortunately his future mom was passing by and Bob found a rescue in her arms and permanent home in her house.
Since Bob is a senior dog, please do not expect action shots here. Bob likes to sleep in and enjoy his days going on his walks around his Vancouver neighborhood. If fact the whole house was purchased by family for his comfort. In the morning he has an entourage consisting of Cedric and Leme, the cats. All three of them come out and walk paw in paw. I guess I was some kind of the nuisance because only one decided to join us. Yes, you will see them too as I could not help myself, but is is all about Bob!
Is is hard to believe looking at him that he is such a mature dog. His coat is shiny, the teeth white and the nose nice and moist.
When I work with older dogs I get some sense of peace. They are calm and majestic. Bob is no exception, he has a stress free life and it shows.
Just look at that beautiful smile!
I have to say that I found it quite challenging to photograph this beautiful dog since he was not really interested in looking at me or the camera. He enjoyed having his back rubbed.. I am considering an assistant or maybe getting a spare set of hands..
After our walk Bob decided that it was time to rest on one of his doggy beds..
Isn’t he lovely? His coat is so soft and he smells heavenly too! But I promised the cats too, so here they are:
I get so lucky lately and I would have missed this (above) moment (since I was concentrating on Bob) if Karin( Bob’s mom) did not ask me to take a photo. Thank you!
The cats are Cedric and Leme and they both are almost two years old. They are vivid hunters and successful ones too, hence the bells on their necks.
Since this is all about Bob, I should stop with the feline photos. The session was a gift for Karin from her dear friend Pixie, I am so honored by confidence in me. Thank you!
Bob was my last client before my big trip. I am leaving in a week. I wanted to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s and since this is a dog blog, the dog’s moms count too!
I am going to see my mom in a week, it has been over two years since I saw her last! I cannot wait! I will be back in Vancouver in July and available sporadically by email during my absence. I am also hoping to update my blog on the go, but it might not happen.
Have a fantastic rest of the spring! Thank you for looking at my photos I truly appreciate it!
Angie – beautiful job with Bob. You captured his personality perfectly! A wonderful tribute to such a magnificent dog!
Great photos! I know it’s all about Bob but I love the kitty pics!!
whether Bob looked at the camera or not, each photograph was great in this series. His fur looks like a soft pillow to me. The cats are cute too. Have fun visiting your mom! You deserve a break….working with dogs isn’t easy!
Such natural shots. You feel as though you are right there next to bob…Thank you…Jo-jo
Okay so not only do I love all the shots of Bob but I am totally digging the first shot with the kitties on the fence. Beautiful work!
