Beware of hairballs in cats

Hello, this is kind of unusual post for me, but I feel like I have been to hell and back in the last two weeks and wanted to share something, just in case anybody else runs into the same problem.

Peaches, my long haired cat, has been with me for 14 years and prior to this I had other cats and I never heard of this being  a serious problem.. Well, just after Christmas my cats started to get sick, stopped eating, started  drinking a lot, loosing weight. I took her to the vet, we did blood test and it showed some slow down in her kidneys activity, she is almost 16 so it was understandable. Her urine test showed nothing and she was still fading away.

I was terrified, what is going on with my cat? She lost a lot of weigh and was not herself at all. Then one night she has a hair ball, nothing out of ordinary, but I realized that this has not happen for a while. I put some hairball remedy on her paws and she licked clean…and then for 4 more nights she expelled huge hairballs. Five in total, over five nights. My poor cat was completely filed with her hair! and it was all my fault!

Busy with Christmas orders, shopping, working etc I neglected my poor baby and she got sick, so very sick.

Well, three days ago she started eating again, so I am hoping we are over the hump. She seems much better and I truly hope that is all that was to it.

Now I made a commitment of brushing her every night, that means my scratch marks are never going to heal, but I will carry these with love.

So if you have a long haired cat brush her or him regularly do not put your animal in danger, like I did! I feel so guilty!

As you can see on the photo above she needs a lot of brushing and she absolutely hates it. She only likes the brush that does not do anything, just like petting..

Having cats for so many years I never thought that the hairballs can be deadly!

Peaches, get better, please forgive me, I love your dearly!

Miniature Pinscher – Jasmine

Meet  Jasmine, 11 year old Mini Pin from Playful Puppy Palace. Her mom owns this fantastic doggy daycare that serves me beautifully when the weather outside is not cooperating.

Jasmine likes to hide a lot, she always finds comfortable place to be, but you have to be careful when you are sitting down…you never know what might lurk in the shadows…

Is is so funny how Jasmine likes to hide, she will always find a blanket, sweater or anything she can slip under.

She will also do anything for food, like standing on her back paws and asking for more and more..

I do have to admit that I have a tongue obsession, every session with dogs, cats and even horses I like to have a picture of tongue sticking out…

Another one, and I know most of pet photographers agree.. is the nose! Just because their faces are set back you get to play with the focus..

The photo above really shows Jasmine’s attitude, she owns the doggy daycare and makes sure all the others are aware.

I just loved her little, delicate paws.
