Ella – standard Schnauzer

Ella is a 2 and a half years old Schnauzer, she is full of life and likes to play. Her Motto is Party, Party! She loves to play with the ball and she loves being silly and cuddly..

It was hard to keep her still on any photos, but we managed just fine.

Ella, like most Schnauzers is very good at jumping..

Rob, Ella’s owner wanted some photos with him and Ella, for his website, the turned out great but you will not see them here..sorry.

I had some challenges during this shoot with getting the focus right on the  lens I am testing ( 24-105 L f4)… I find it a little dark..these photos aabove were taken with  my trustworthy 70-200 L IS F2.8… I love that lens and I am the most comfortable using it for any sort of photos.. however I cannot get close..well..I get beautiful close ups from the distance..

Above shot with 70- 200,

below 24-105, both were sharp l lenses..but completely different effect.. I think I have learned with the horses that the “fish eye” kind of photographs are not always welcomed lol!

It is great that we have the technology to do both, so I usually give the clients some choices…it is a buffet of possibilities!A

Anyway, enough of this mambo jumbo and back to Ella, as I said it was a challenge to keep her steady…

I like that picture, it shows her fun personality. She is such a friendly and happy dog. Her daddy wishes her attention span was longer than 3 sec, but otherwise he has no complains.

The meadow was very wet, but this was not enough for Ella, she decided to end our session with the plunge…

Another beautiful sunny day in Vancouver… I love the sun, but overcast weather is better for photos… So many shot ruined by the shadows.. I have to pay more attention to it is the future!

Thank you Ella and Rob!

Blue the Australian Catle dog

Last days of sun shining on the colorful leaves…I do love the fall!

I got so lucky last week! My session that has been re-scheduled quite few times due to the weather finally took place on a super sunny day. Well, ok I know not the full sun is not the best friend of the photorapher, but it beats pouring rain!

Blue is such an obedient dog, no need for a leash at all! I am used to work with the dogs that do what they want and when they want, so working with the dog that can sit and stay was such a breeze

In pursuit of perfection I used to delete shots like that (above), now I have grown to love them..

Her is Blue in front of his house and the fountain his daddy made with his own hands….

Thank you Blue, Janet, Pat and little Isabella for a fantastic morning!

In memoriam for Samy

I just got the news from my mom that our family dog had passed away.. His name was Samy and he was a Chow Rottie mix.

We loved him, especially my aunt, those two had a special bond for 13 years. Samy was sick for a while and could not move too much. He lived in a beautiful place in Polish Mountains.

Samy, you are so missed! I will not have a chance to fight with you over the bed in a spare bedroom when I come and visit..how sad!

I could only find these two pictures, taken with a point and shoot camera… I wish I had more…
