Australian Shepherds- Zelda and Molly

Introducing two tame and lovable grils Zelda (9 years old, Brown, Black and White) and Molly (5 years old black and white).

This time the shot took place at Iona Beach in Richmond on the crisp February morning. We met in the parking lot and Molly was very reserved at first, I knew she was rescued from a puppy mill 4 years ago and her current mom worked hard to keep Molly form being scared. Molly did fine during the shot, although at the end she dug herself a little hole on the beach and rested against the log.

When you look at her smile it is hard to imagine what she went through at the beginning of her life, she went to few foster homes, but the new owners did not want to deal with her problems. Finally she met her match, Rita, who is one of the nicest people I ever had a chance to come across. Rita already had Zelda at that time. All three of them get along so well. I was hard for me to get them on a separate photos since they stick to their mommy and each other.

Zelda is older and wiser, she knows you do not have to be scared of the long lens on my camera, she also know how to organize the snack on her own that I thoughtlessly left sitting on the log… you would have thought I know better! Well she shared with Molly, how cute, but not a 100% voluntary.

It is amazing how easy it was to photograph Zelda, she listen, she smiled, she posed. The shots above are the ones I really like to take, when to dog in unaware of the camera and sits calmly thinking of something..

Molly on the other hand was not all that comfortable with having the leans in her face, hence the ears pulled back. I love the sand covered nose, it was from the hole dug up earlier.
