The weather is not cooperating lately, even dogs do not like to hang out in the wind and rain, but we got a lucky break this Wednesday and managed to photograph Mingus a Presa Canario Puppy of 6 months and 70 lbs! We met in one of my beloved places for dog photography Spanish Bank (also known as Spanish Banks) in Vancouver. It was a crisp morning, but the rain stayed out of our way.
We were on the beach when all of sudden we saw a plane flying low and heading straight for the city, my heart stopped..until I realized that this is 11 am on Remembrance Day and the plane is heading to fly above the parade. Amazing how 9-11 changed the way we think and look at things..

Do not look for the dog in the photo above, the plane was making so much noise that Mingus preferred to back out a bit towards the shore.

Mingus is a sweet guy, he does not like to go in the water and likes to stay close to his mommy, that always changes the dynamic a bit, by we managed just fine.

Mingus is in such a great shape, he runs lie the wind and gets airborne, to bad the tide was up and we did not have much of the beach to work with.
If you are coming to my blog regularly, you probably noticed a watermark on my photos, unfortunately this is how I am going to showcase my photos from now on, I will not get into details, but I will sleep better knowing that my photos are not used when not authorized.

His mommy says he reminds her of a cheetah and looking at the photos below I agree…

Mingus is a fast runner, too bad that he disappears in the fall background..perfect color match!

Mingus’ father weighs 165 lbs, so this puppy is going to more than double his size. I sure hope he can keep his energy up too.

Of course we cannot photograph the dog on the Vancouver Beach and do not use the city as a backdrop…

I do love fall, it used to be a favorite time of the year for me..well until I moved here.. In Poland we have Golden Polish Autumn where the days are sunny and warm, Vancouver is quite different sometimes the sun does not show its face for weeks. I do love living here, do not get me wrong, I am not complaining! The rain is the price I am willing to pay for living in one of the most spectacular places on the planet.

Big thank you to Mingus and his humans! It was such a nice surprise when the man of the family showed up in the middle of our session with hot tea for us to enjoy. It melts my heart when people are so nice!
