A session with 6 dogs! What a day

Well, so it was supposed to be a three dog session, but I am a sucker and wanted to include the puppies… ended up with one yard and six dogs. The puppies were, as expected, not interested in posing or staying in one place. Even the basket we try to use was no problem to get out of.. Eventually I gave up on puppies and we took the big dogs to the off-leash park, but I did came back next week to work with the puppies only since they all are going away to the new homes on Sunday :( and I might not get the chance to see them grow bigger. So in this blog post two sessions are  combined into one. I am no super woman, just a determined photographer that does everything to make the client happy.

Ok, so the shot below took forever to achieve, it took an hour and a half to get the puppies tired enough to stay in one place.

Another interesting thing about photographing the puppies, they did not react to the usual sounds that get the grown ups looking. I had to develop all new repertoire of funny sounds to get their attention. Another thing about them the learned so fast and did not react to the sound they heard before.

We could not get the dogs to stay together for the photo, so we used the leashes to keep them in position. The difficult thing with photographing the dogs of different colors next to each other is to get a good exposure so all the details are visible and the dark dog does not become the black blob.

Freddie the Havanese Dog is such a gentle soul and he never gets to keep the toy, Mocha, the poodle, has an upper hand and she is always the one with the toy in her mouth. Holly, the owner was really happy that we managed to get Freddie running away with toy in his mouth.
